Description:

This is a nice cannon ready to go its been properly unwrapped, and textured, its sitting in a "show-room" type thing right now but that was just what I was using it for. Use it as you wish ENJOY!

I'm impressed by the diamonds of light glinting on the gilded post heads and the sheen on the presumably bronze body, but you've forgotten an important detail!! If this is, as you say, a museum or showroom exhibit, it surely needs a label, even if unreadable by the camera angle ... here is a good example, that more or less fits your model: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1919_Dodge_museum_label.jpg

yeah I was thinking of adding one but meh, I used this for a desktop back ground, and the cannon itself for some smoke simulation testing i.e. slow motion cannon ball fired from this cannon, stuff like that.

Oh! So you weren't portraying an exhibit for a production work, after all.

Thinking about it, I'd be interested in knowing what reference you used to base this cannon on. I think I would like to use this as a miniature and put it on a polished wooden stand to adorn a shelf, like the locomotive at http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/69410. So I would need to make a little brass plaque with some text engraved on it. I'd like to know the maker, rough date and maybe a battle it was used in. Can you help there?

yeah sure, I based it off a miller wagon & cannon co. replica design, this cannon would have been used during civil war era I think but I used more then one image to make this, I liked the pirates kind ribbed barrel, and by the way if you take the arms off, and wheels and what not I put two extruded holders on the both sides of the cannon so you can put it on anything if you didn't want to remodel.
