Written May 11, 2013This is my first published blend on here made from a tutorial and I'm new to blender, so yeah, it doesnt look realistic. I was having trouble with the reflection and stuff. Also, I used wireheadkings tutorial.

This doesn't look entirely realistic, so I looked up a tutorial myself. Found one at http://www.blenderguru.com/how-to-make-puddles/.
That puddle is on a hard surface, viewed at night, whilst yours is on a dirt road, viewed in daylight.
In your render, the vegetation reflection seems too vibrant. A Google image search on the term "puddle" produces lots of daytime rain puddles. The reflections are mainly muted.
I would expect a puddle on a dirt road to be clouded with a little of the same colour as the dirt.
Your puddle also looks like it is resting on top of the road, but this might just be because of the bright colour. I know that water does have a surface tension that can make it stand up a little off the ground.
The tutorial used some interesting techniques, so thanks for inspiring me to look it up :-)
