Since old-fashioned, incandescent lightbulbs are in the process of being phased out across Europe I thought of having a go at creating one in Blender. I obtained a side view photo of a standard E27 lightbulb and modeled the lightbulb itself with that image as reference. Drawing classes often offer drawing a lightbulb on a plane surface as a challenge to medium-skilled drawing students - it is harder than you think it would be. Modeling one in Blender, however, took about two hours (I am no whizz kid, but in my early fifties). Texturing assumes the use of Cycles for rendering.
