MetaTrader (MT4/MT5) is the backbone for many traders, but its strategy tester mode feels dated when you want next-level flexibility. I read the “MetaTrader alternatives” blog https://forextester.com/blog/metatrader-alternatives/ and it opened me up to platforms with more modern UI, cleaner data handling, and faster optimization. I actually migrated some parts of my workflow: I still keep MT for live trading, but for testing I now run on another platform that allows multi-timeframe and cross-instrument backtesting more smoothly. If you’re frustrated by MT limitations, I’d strongly recommend reading that blog and looking for one of those newer platforms. The leap is subtle but meaningful.
