I've re-created the look of 3 of the most common types of RGB color displays through history: The CRT TV, the CRT Monitor, and the LCD Display. Each of these displays has different ways of drawing RGB colors to the screen, and each of these methods has a characteristic look. In addition, different displays have different reflective properties. I have put a lot of effort into dynamically recreating the effects of each of these displays, down to the sub-pixel level.
The main features of this blend are contained in a collection of node groups and some materials that use them. Check out how I've used them in this blend. Once you understand how the screens are built, you can easily apply this effect to any display you want by simply making 2 copies of the screen (a display and a cover layer in front), applying the appropriate materials, and changing the appropriate settings.
