A cartoony human character with a full user interface found in the sidebar for the face.
Well I saw his tutorial, which helped a bit but I already knew how to make face rigs. I might put clothes on him later but if you want to do it yourself all you really have to do is duplicate a part of the mesh, make it a separate object and then hide that area with a mask modifier in the original object so that you can't see it through the clothing.
Hi,
thank you very much for sharing Porl. I am having lots of fun with him!
@Guy just hover your cursor over the slider and press i to create a keyframe.
hi i just want to thank you for sharing this absolutely amazing rig. It is very user friendly and everything works just as it should. it must have taken you a long time to build this, and you are very generous to share it. have you any plans on releasing another??? female maybe or animal??Again, thanks for sharing.
@Blender noob pd yes I'm going to make more versions of him later on. I actually do have another one which I'll post soon.
@Sumazure
Select the face bone, which is just above his forehead, press N and scroll down to where it says Eyes. If you can't see any switches then make sure your Armature name is Porl_Rig and not Porl_Proxy or something.
@ Sam watterson, hi sam i read your ?, i didnt create this marvelous rig , to but to keep hands in place wile moving body, you need to switch to Inverse Kinematics ( I.K) . IF you pose your figure in pose required e.g do a simple pose with his arms extended straight out in front of his body and hands positioned up against a plane or object. now move his body ( important not the root bone, as ik hands are usually parented to the root). I havent checked the rigs bone names before writing this but the bone you'll need to move him forward, is usually placed around the hip region, play with the rig and find which bone makes him 'jump' but leaves the ik hand controls in place in place. This is the simple answer to show you the basics of how it works , but it will help you understand the proscess a little better. ill have a quick look at the rig and write another (short lol) comment including names of bones etc.
ok when you load pori, find switch panel to his right, switch on ik arms both left and right. youll then see the ik hand controllers. at the very top of this panel is 2 sliders, switch them both to ik, after posinfg etc the bone i failed to named is in fact called pelvis. Try follow above now. If you still struggle put a comment under one of my inferior rigs, so as to save comment space on vm comix comment section. hope i helped a little
hI VMComix, i have used this rig (i have meade some modification on it ) in this animation excercise, and i have give you credits for the character & Rig. hope you like it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBhPWWiY8KI
