Hey, I know it's been a long time, but I finally took the time to "finish" Yoda and update him completely to Cycles and make all kinds of other improvements. I have been working on him off and on for 12 years , and updating him with new features and as my skills have increased. I estimate this is iteration 600+ of this model (at least). I've spent hundreds and maybe even a thousand hours perfecting and learning how to model/light/animate better. I hope you can find a good use and please do share with me anything you do! I'd love to see it! Some directions are in a text file when you first open the file up, but I'm going to try to do a quick video tutorial at some point in the not too distant future.
Oh man I am so happy I found this!! I used your model in a logo I made several years back, I think it's the best thing! I am so sorry I wasn't able to credit you - somehow, through the process of animating and moving him from scene to scene (I wasn't exactly the most efficient Blender user back then) I had lost the credit info... But I am going to update my description on my YouTube page. Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ab1ync-Huo I would really love for you to upload an updated version. Me and my team would love to use the model in our WVTV Video Announcements, but with proper credit this time. Nice job!

Have you seen him with a lightsaber? But in all seriousness, I was just throwing him into whatever category I thought might fit.
Also, the updated 2.56 version just needs a few more tweaks. Hoping to have him up here middle of next week.
Hey guys, finally took the time to pack up all my updates into a new blend. All Cycles now, with SSS, hair, cloth dynamics, and much more! Enjoy!
This was rigged just using my own limited knowledge of rigging. There are a few IK handles for arms (connected to hands) each finger, each toe, legs (connected to feet) and upper and lower mouth. I tried to rig him in a way (especially the face) that would give puppet like movements, that to say, there isn't the amount of control that you would normally have for a 3d animated character, but I was trying very much to walk the line between modern animated model, but still be rooted in a puppet style performance, so that any animation I make would kind of bridge that gap.
Hmmm. Seems that this and many other files on Blendswap currently have broken links to previews and files. Hope it can be fixed soon. In the meantime, is there any other place to download Yoda?
Really great model, but the rig and lighting is greyed out on the outliner and can not be seen or selected.
It seems master yoda is too powerful for blender 2.91... any chance you plan on updating the model?
I had the same problem. Open it with Version 2.56 then save as with a new name. Then it will work with Version 2.91
Hey guys. This is the 2.49 version that I uploaded, but after looking at it and playing around with it, I'm not real happy about how it looks and behaves (can anyone say electricity hair?) in 2.5 so I am going to upload an updated 2.56 version very soon.
