Edit Note: Added BodyKun and some minor tweaks (25 Apr 2020)
This rig was made because of me having no money to buy a drawing figure so I decided to make one myself. Even though I only did this for the purpose of having some sort of pose model to draw off of, the rigging process was done pretty neatly using Rigify add-on. I believe you can use the rig for your mechanics shots if you will. I'll update more on this one once in awhile, so please stay tuned for the time being. Cheers!
It was saying it could not execute a script and didn't allow me to click on any anythings. Is this supposed to happen?
Hi Alex, I think it is due to the rigify addon script which needs to be executed in order for the rig to work. Can you see any 'allow' button or something of that sort?
I was trying to do my own Body Chan for drawing too. Then I found you already did this... It's perfect, just what I wanted to do, it works PERFECT !!! Can't wait to see Body Kun !!!
He's gonna be launched in the next few days! Thank you for your patience :D
hi, vinchau just downloaded this awsome figure, however i cant seem to manipulate it. i am new to blender so i apologies if you already explained it.
Could you please provide me more info? I would love to help you my friend! Cheers!
Hi Vinchau,
Thank you very much for your valuable time and such great work, you have saved my life.
I would love to be able to print a 3D figure from this model. Do you think this would be possible?
I tried to convert your .blender file to .stl from online websites and I get error. Could you give me a hint of how I could do it correctly?
Thanks a lot !
Note: Error: Conversion failed for all permutations. It is very likely that the problem is rooted at the input file(s) (either the format is not supported as advertised or the files were malformed).
3D files must meet certain requirements to be printable. You can find tutorials on preparing 3D models for print, but honestly you'd be better off buying the legitimate Body Kun and Body Chan figures if you want a functional, posable drawing model.
Sorry since the meshes are pretty messy I thought it would be ideal just to be the reference for drawing. Besides, I don't think you could print it aslo, I am not familiar with 3D printing so I cannot help you in this case. Sorry about that! Enjoy the rigs anyways.
this rig is super awesome but im such a noob at blender i don't even know how to import it T-T im trying to use file>append>object but when i append it, both the female and male models are stacked into each other and i can't pose them?
I managed to create an entire animation with these models and to slightly modify the faces without damaging the entire system. Really good job, very clean!
Thanks a lot bud!, this rig is very light on my PC i can play with animations without having to play at 5 FPS
Amazing Rig! One of the best I've ever come across. Thank you so much for sharing!
My body Kun/Chan does not work. I cannot move the part and my Rigify addon is on. Could it a problem with the version of blender I am using?

Hello, I'm new to blender :(, just downloaded the figure, I cant manipulate it, all the body is selected when I try select body parts. How do I manipulate it? Q.Q
I was thinking of making something like this for myself, then decided to look and see if someone already did it.. Thank you. :)
YEEEEESSSSS. Thank you for doing this. I've been considering buying a body kun figure for easy posing reference, because there's only one decent iPad app for pose reference (Art Pose), but it doesn't offer mannequin visualization and its manipulation tools are wonky and clumsy. This is much better. Thank you again.
Edit: I've noticed that there are quite a few bones in the rig that could stand to have their pose location locked (head / neck, finger controls, etc.). For anyone else who wants to lock their location, just grab those bones in pose mode, go to the Scripting layout, and run this in the scripting console:
for bone in C.selected_pose_bones:
bone.lock_location[:] = [True, True, True]
Loved the model and rig. I'm totally a fan of your rigging. Will there be any rigging tutorial on your YouTube channel?
Hi, thx for making this rig! Its amazing! It took me a second to figure out how to manipulate it but I figured it out so it wasn't too hard! I just wanted to say that I can't find the girl body. When I download it I only get the male body. How do I get the girl too? Thx again for taking the time to make this, its very much appreciated!
Edit - never mind i found it. For those who are wondering, go to the Scene Collection on the top right, then its say extra, misc, body chan, body chan_rig, body kun, and body kun_rig. On the right of each word, there is a check, a mouse, an eye, and a camera. click the eye for body chan and body chan_rig and turn of the eye (close the eye) for body kun and its rig so that you can see the body chan. or you can leave them both on if you want to see them at the same time. ; D
Also to help with manipulating, go to layout at the top and on the top right it say object mode, click on it and change it to pose mode, the use the move and rotate tool on the left to manipulate the body. Im new and just joined blender yesterday but this is how I figured out how to manipulate it. Hope this Helps! ;D
it was on the top left for me.
ngl i thought i'd have to be on the animation tab
Edit: also how do I stop the stretching when I move elements.
Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for..... Great as a sketch poseur
This stretches when I try and pose it. I tried using the volume keeper but it did not work.
