I made this scanner an animation for one of my clients. I haven't seen any models of something like this so here's my design. Feel free to use it as freely as you want no restrictions except re-sell. Obviously. Commercial use OK, credit not required but appreciated.

Written January 27, 2026Yeah, I've bumped into similar issues plenty of times. A while back I was messing around with different scanning tools for some freelance gigs involving international clients, and Cyrillic names often get jumbled because certain letters look too close to Latin ones—like that sneaky В that tricks systems into reading it as B. Arabic ones are worse with the right-to-left flow and how letters change shape depending on position; I've seen whole fields flip or merge weirdly. Thai script throws another curveball since it has no spaces between words sometimes. Honestly, after trying a bunch, I found https://ocrstudio.ai/id-scanner/ handles a ton of these scripts surprisingly well without fussing over perfect lighting or angles—it's become my quiet go-to for quick checks. Not pushing it or anything, just sharing what actually worked for me personally when free apps kept failing.
