This is the "Boby" taboret originally designed by Joe Colombo, which is why I have marked it as fan art. There are several manufacturers and slightly different styles, but I worked from images found on the net.
It's a mobile art or crafts supplies organiser, featuring two deep trays that swing out and a lipped surface on top to stop things from rolling or dripping off. The "demo" image shows the taboret in use (by a left-handed artist). In that demo image are some oil paint tubes by oldtimer ( http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/65537 ), Manny by Poser, my easel ( https://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/87046 ), one of my real-life oil paintings, a studio backdrop by dzerbs ( http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/68855 ) and the taboret.
As with all my models, the parts are properly named, grouped and parented to an empty for easy transfer to your own blend file.
I found the shorter version by a dumpster. When I first saw it, I thought it looked like something Joe Colombo would design. I took it home and cleaned it up.It's a bit yellowed from UV light, but still looks kinda neat. Now, thanks to you, I can also have a 3D model version of it.
I hope it finds a good home in your virtual studio. :)
Yay! I got it into Daz Studio and made some iRay renders featuring it. Here's one: https://www.deviantart.com/luqu/art/Kartell-Stuff-3D-Models-839959888
