I used a few modifiers to create a simple shock wave with a basic texture the file has two scenes,textured and raw, the raw is just a basic halo material. https://youtu.be/xNCl-Q150vo
You should use the dolly zoom addon. Google for it. You will love it. I think it was used in Contact when warping.
Er, I don't understand anything about the animation or clothing side of Blender. But I got my commander now rigged, but I don't know how to animate him for Unreal 4 let alone animate a worm hole using this dolly camera zoom plugin you mention but i will look it up. but what i need is a movie player that gives zero output with no windows showing, it just plays the movie and then exits to the windows console when finished playing it.
but before I can even animate my commander, i gotta either fuilly texture his skin, (only his head to his neck have been textured, or try to put a commander's uniform on him to cover that untextured skin up.
