Description:

An animated countdown clock, running from 10 seconds to 00 seconds, using Nixie valves.

There are 2 valve elements that include the digits 0-9 in each but animated independently. You could easily duplicate the objects and animate larger values. The numbers are all objects within the valves that glow individually based on their animated material. You can alter the appearance of a number over time by modifying the material f-curve.

Currently the camera points at an empty target and moves along a curve path that you can edit independently.

I have setup the scene to render at 50% of a 720HD frame so that you can open it on a simple PC. The scene is set up to render in Cycles, somewhat tailored for animation render times (fewer samples etc.).

    That sounds like a fun project! You can use Nixie valves to create a very unique counter. Using adjusted materials to change the appearance of the numbers throughout time is a great idea. No doubt it will be very useful for my future projects time calculator.
