Simple Persian Style Rug

Description:

I created a simple black and white pattern to serve as an input texture that controls colour. Thick hair particles are added for ruggy fluffiness. This is in the background of a movie scene I'm working on. Maybe it'll be useful to someone else.

    Not sure what I'm doing wrong here but all the hairs on the rug are standing straight up maybe something doesnt translate to 2.9 from this older blend file for the particle system?

    Hey, thanks for the comment. The irregular surface is simply achieved by different length hair rather than my combing. You should be getting the same rendered result as in the picture, but I haven't tried rendering it in 2.9.
