another quick exercise, I should call them "life modelling", i guess.
well, not so quick this time, the joint on the cap was really a nightmere :D
No materials this time, i wanted to focus just on the modelling. There's a shape key to use for opening/closing the cap. it's not really well made, so you'll have some issue if you need the cap to be half open, but if you just need it fully open or closed it works fine.
great model! Very clean and realistic! A tutorial would be awesome, I have some problems to model more complex objects like the cap ;)
thanks ;) it's not so complicated... except for the joint, that was really hard XD but it is all a matter of topology, and looking at the real object really helps ;)
Very nice model, I want to know how to do that too =] Did you see any tutorial?
Thanks. No tutorial, I copied a real cream tube I had :D the body part is just a cylinder, the cap is started as a cylinder, and then I worked a lot on topology for the joint and the details
But I think about the vertex group, with change the value the tube open and close. I really like it =] I want to know and do something similar with another model. Did you follow any tutorial to do the vertex group animation?
mmm i've seen something about it long ago. it's really a basic usage of the shapekeys (if you try to animate it you'll see some horrible artefact) this cgcookie quick tip should be what you need anyway ;) http://cgcookie.com/blender/2012/03/28/introduction-to-shape-keys-in-blender-2-6/
Simple, yet very well modeled. great work.
