Here is my hand picked selection of NodeGroups i've created over the past 2-3 years. There's everything, from simple little Tools, Materials, UberShaders to Compositing. Some are made quickly, on some i spent countless hours.

With this first release i've put together some information about every NodeGroup. Not too much, but mainly what the NodeGroup is supposed to do. I think it's important to get a quick start on them, cause really, some of them might seem confusing (even for me ;-) by just looking at it.

I've taken quite some time to re-check everything, set usable and good defaults and to make them as easy as possible.

All of those NodeGroups are made by me, with the exception of the CondFresnel in the Metal-Kn.

I always try to not let them break energy conservation - so they should be safe to use in any circumstances.

More Info here.

I know this may be dumb...but....if I was to give bashi credit in an animation for this...how would I do it? edited by? composited by? nodes by? thanks for the help ahead of time! :)

Trhooker: maybe a "special thanks to bashi" at the end of the animation solves the problem.. :))

The License is changed to CC Zero, so no need anymore to give me credits.

Hey I'm relatively new to Blender. Does anyone know of a good tutorial for how to take sets of nodes like this, and put them in my own blender files and use them?

Progress!!! Making life easier. This is a definitive guide for experiential learners.

The CC-0 is the reason blender has become superior. Equal, often superior, opportunity for all. I foresee Bender replacing many expensive, bloated programs. If it had more efficient 2D drafting capabilities, I wouldn't even need AutoCAD. Blender takes up 40x less space than 3d Studio Max or Maya. It does much more, and it will work on -all- of my students home computers.

I'll be studying these nodes with my (underfunded) CADD class...Thank You.

I encourage the world to credit your work because they choose to.

@bashi Many thanks for sharing your node groups. I really appreciate your generosity.

@Blob Drag and drop the blend file into blender, when asked click 'Link' navigate to the NodeTree folder and choose the node you wish to add to your linked library. Then in Compositing > Node Editor press Shift + A , spacebar, search for the node name and add it to your node tree. Press Tab to open the group to understand what's going on, and Tab again to close it.

How does this work. Is it an addon or do I copy a node over to my project?
