I used the particlesystem made the maizes.and in this work,the random node(in the object info) is very uesfull.
This is very good. Very lifelike. I love corn on the cob.
Would you mind adding more tags please? "Sweetcorn", "Sweet", "Corn" and "Corn on the cob" should do it, for those of us in the UK.
The wooden image doesn't show up. Is it available as a download from anywhere? Otherwise I'll find an alternative.
I spent some time trying to get more juicy shine on the individual fruits to match the Wikipedia image: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Aa_maize_ear_irregular_01.jpg
... but couldn't quite manage it. One of the things I tried was to increase the Fac value in the Mix shader from 0.1 to 0.3. I'm not experienced with Cycles materials. Can anyone suggest anything?
I would suggest that you decrease the roughness on the glossy shader and use a Fresnel node to factor the mixing of the diffuse and glossy materials. I added a few more material features, but you can see the results here: https://plus.google.com/116928322621137599282/posts/EU3apy8t1YS
Thank you for your suggestion. I'm pleased to say that I worked out how to (find and) add the Fresnel node from your instructions above, before looking at your noodle. Then I added your other nodes. I've learned a litle bit more from this :-)
