The animation for the first part of the clip is included in the blend file. The second part is in a separate file not included.
Modelling was straightforward once I had measured the brick dimensions accurately with a Vernier gauge. Originally built with individual bricks then merged into lager components to facilitate rigging. Unfortunately this means there is quite a lot of unnecessary geometry that iÂs difficult to remove.
There were some interesting challenges in rigging some of the trapezium shaped linkages. You can use the cosine rule to solve the triangles in python script or you can do what I did in the end and allow the connecting rods to slide ever so slightly in their sockets. I have yet to find a practical solution to rigging the pneumatic rubber hoses so they are left on a non-visible layer. If anyone has any suggestions about how to keep them out of the way of other moving parts...
Thanks to my son for the loan of his toy with no missing parts and thanks to my wife for purchasing it all those years ago.

Written September 15, 2015Thank you. I paid little attention to texturing and lighting so there is plenty of scope for improvement. I would be interested to see what you can do with it.
