Description:

Hello guys, that`s my next Blend by learning Blender. I will create my first outdoor scene (a french castle like Versailles). Now this is a Pavillon and the scultpure should be Mars. You can download the scultpure without copyright-problems by lincoln3dscans.co.uk. The gold-material is from elbrujodelatribu. The Blend has about 10.000.000 vertexes. That's the reason why Blender starts slowly. I hope you have enjoy with it.

I expect this blend's size is mostly the imported statue of Mars.

You need not have included it in the blend file since you've told us where we can download it. Incidentally, great resource - thanks for bringing it to my attention.

If you don't mind my suggestion, I would have a larger area inside the pavilion to accommodate two or three decorative stone benches from which to admire the statue and have the pillars spaced further apart, because at the moment they are so close together that it would be hard for someone to squeeze through :-)

It looks rather as if Mars is imprisoned!

It is only that it is out of scale with itself.

Have a look at our Royal Pavilion in Brighton, which is not far from where I live: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Pavilion

Just look at the lower half, at the thickness, spacing and quantity of the columns, relative to the interior area. If you make yours about the same then your pavilion will come out looking just right.
