Once again I joined forces with the amazing Chris Kuhn to create this beast. He modeled it ridiculously fast, and then handled it over to me for all the texturing and rendering stuffs.

More renders on the BA thread.

NOTE: Most of the textures used are not compatible with a Creative Commons license - so no textures have been included in this blend. If you want the textures you need to download them separately (instuctions of use included):

(This blend may or may not work in version 2.65 - try it in a newer build from builder.blender.org - I used r54428)

Comments:

I do believe Greg has given me too much credit here... The warped planks were his idea (Displace modifier), and I think he did the bulk of the work. Ever try to unwrap a 400K polygon mesh? It ain't fun :)

Can't say it was fun, but I didn't entirely hate it either ;)

I love the detail, but you haven't alined the text mesh "suzanne's regenge" properly. I think this is only a small error that you've made. Love the detail and compositing. GJ

That's possibly true. Should be an easy fix for you, though:)

Now thats called Industry Standard..!!

amazing render and model...awesome, wonder how many days take you guys to complete this beast?

regards

Not sure how long it took Chris to model it, but UVs took me about 3 days, everything else maybe 2. I've done this stuff before see ;)

I'm sure you will max out your Dropbox downloads lol. Amazing share!

Probably ;) if that happens I'll use my second account... and if that one dies too, I'll have to ask for help... or make a third :P

If you need help let us know, I'm sure we could help out.

If you need help, I've got spare bandwidth on my site - happy to help!

This is elegant work: you're both legends!!

This is the most awesome blend I've seen.

if you have to, make a small site that the stuff can be downloaded from without limitations.

You nailed it once again :) Great job guys!

Is it named after Suzanne the monkey?

I used your ship as part of the reference for an illustration I did recently - a Portal Pirate Parody - http://www.hobbesart.ca/porthole-a-portal-pirate-parody/

Thanks for the great blend!
