An original design for a Sci-Fi fighter. It's a pretty basic model, about 44K polys.
I built this for a video tutorial series... I was going to do a DVD, but decided to post it on YouTube instead. Enjoy the model and videos (below).

what do you mean by "a free blender modeling course"?
great work = )
KuhnIndustries
I mean that I built the model specifically to record and narrate the modeling process. It's about 2.5 hours long, and I'm posting the videos on YouTube... you know, like a tutorial.
KuhnIndustries
Sorry... that sounds sarcastic now that I read it... I didn't mean it to be.
KuhnIndustries
Also, saw that gun model you did... awesome. I should totally have put that on this ship :)
BlenderBoy55
Really Nice! Are you planing to texture it to? I think i maybe using it in one of my projects. If i do, i will credit you.
KuhnIndustries
Thanks... yeah, I am planning to texture it eventually. I was gonna use the material from my helicopter blend as a base (it's got procedural textures... may need a bit of tweaking as far as colors and X/Y/Z texture scale). But the blend is here:

Of course, there are plenty of great materials and textures on this site that I had nothing to do with :) I'd love to see what you come up with.

Thanks for the tutorial KUHNO362. Your vehicle designs are really cool. I will subscribe.

Probably better to post the tutorials first and then upload the model to Blendswap. That way all the people who love your model will go directly to youtube to watch the video. I went to youtube and was disappointed that you didnt have the tutorial up yet. By the time you put it up I probably will have forgotten about it. You would probably get more subscribers if you put the videos up first. Not to be critical, I'm just saying.
KuhnIndustries
I didn't have ALL of the tutorial up ahead of time, but I had some of it... and the rest of the videos were uploading. I should get at least partial credit, I think :)

Very nice! I like your tutorials too.
BlenderBoy55
What i like about this Blend is that its low poly so its also good for games which is what am gonna use it for. I hope the textures will be game compatible.
KuhnIndustries
They probably will be, but I've got a few other projects going on so it may be awhile... You are certainly free to make your own of course... If you would like an even lower poly version of the model, shoot me a message on youtube.

Did you have a precise idea of the model you wanted to create, or you were building the concept on the way? Great modeling technique tutorial by the way! I just would like you upload HD videos. :)
KuhnIndustries
Hey,
I had a pretty good idea of the model when I started. For every video that's posted, there's probably 45 minutes of practice to get it just right. I probably build this model 15-20 times in the process :)
atzibala
Sorry I realize you did upload HD videos! I was only downloaded the intro.

This is pretty damned awesome. Great tutorials too. :)

I have started to follow your tutorial on YouTube and try to build this ship from scratch but at the very beginning I had a problem: I am using latest version of Blender (2.65a) and the Bevel tool is not behaving same as you use in your tutorial. Any suggestions? Btw, I would love to see a tutorial on your F35 model (including texturing and rigging). Keep up the great work. I have your e-book by the way it is great (although I had to open a US account on Amazon to purchase it – and now I cannot use that account for anything else – hope you would make your e-books available everywhere next time).
KuhnIndustries
Hey,
Yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about. They "fixed" the bevel tool on the latest version and it was driving me insane. I just re-installed 2.64. Also, my e-book is available everywhere... as far as I can tell. I can track sales in US/UK/EU/Japan, etc... not sure what the issue is. Sorry for any inconvenience. I'm doing a rigging book right now, btw.

Hey Chris, I am pretty sure that you did see CGmaster's new competition for a video tutorial. I think you should definetly participate. Wish you best of luck in advance :)

Started watching the tutorial, pretty awesome! This is an excellent share, and resource, thank you very much! Maybe we can plug it on Twitter or something ;)

Look Very complex :3 Nice work...

Hey Chris, I followed your tutorial and created following scene with the model I created. Compositing is mainly based on Blender Guru’s spaceship tutorial. http://cgcookie.com/blender/images/escape-2/
I am very happy with the result of the modeling part. Compositing could have been better. Thanks for the great tutorial. I hope you continue your great tutorials.
Note: Please show techniques without the bevel tool, so we can use 2.65+ versions.
KuhnIndustries
Saw it, dude... very, very nice. I like the glowing lines on it. Neat idea :)

Thanks :)
