Elfe v1.0 - by Tetine (CC-BY) http://tetine--king-of-nada.deviantart.com/ Other wip videos : http://vimeo.com/user5766342/videos

This is a character entirely done in Blender 2.55-56. She does have a name and you can call her Thal'ope Its main purpose was to validate most of the stuff I have learned lately. The rig is greatly inspired by ManCandy, Flick and various rigs by Kioppa

There should be a script in the blend, adding some controls in the Properties panel of the pose mode. (Mainly Ik-Fk controls and layer hiding)

Layer 1 has the final model. Layer 2 has a copy of the armature and model. You should animate this one and link the animation data to the full model armature.

It's pretty rough around the edges, but I didn't have the courage to go through all the little details...

Anyway, since this file doesn't include sound, here are some not-in-the-video-subtitles (yeah, i didn't feel like making some actual sound, shame on me): Elfe : "Well, nice studio..." Suspicious Movie Maker : "Thank you" Elfe : "So, your movie has some nude shots, right?" SMM : "Er... Actually no..." Elfe : "WHAT!?" slap sound SMM: "Arg!" Elfe : "Mff! Amateur..."

Thanks to the blender clan, for the script idea and for the feedback during the WIP. Thanks to Wukong for sharing some rendering power (more than 50% actually) Thanks to Bassam Kurdali for is ManCandy DVD Thanks to Ndee of blenderartists.org for his character Flick Thanks to Kioppa of blenderclan.tuxfamily.org for his various work on rigs

Don't forget to bake dynamics, and use a recent build, since I'm using the latest patch regarding hair parting. If you use this character or have some comments to share, you can always leave a comment on my deviantart account, vimeo account or at the blenderclan and show me what you did :)

Comments:

Wow, very impressive model, thanks for the share.

First Sintel, then "Tha'Lope." It seems that the Blender community has a theme going here... :) :) :)

Fantastic! Her expressions look amazing! Thanks... inspiring

Thal'ope... sort of sounds like "Oh! la Salope!" Actually she looks like my ex-wife.

What happens when Tha'Lope meets an antalope?

Damn, what a model there ^^ very very impressive job. Animations look exceptional too...

Featured!

Dude your render makes the sexiest Blend Swap header ever! :D

Thanks for all the comments and the feature, I really appreciate it :)

I feel like I somehow achieved something worth the time spent on it. Let's hope it's not the last one too XD

The model is very nice and the animation is fluid, thank you for sharing it

Very nice model, very inspiring for a starting modeler.

Awesome. Model and animation (lil'bit unnatural).

A-freaking-mazing model.

I was studying the topology. I can see how you got some of it but a lot of it is a mystery. Any chance you could do a video of even a partial model? It would be invaluable to us up and coming modelers...

I'd be willing to beg if it helps :-)

Excellent job!!

Just two questions:

  1. How can I reduce the model scale without messing facial drivers?
  2. Is there any facial expressions and phonemes poses stored somewhere?

Thanks =)

  1. To reduce the size, you can scale the armature, in pose or object mode. Then you have to select each driver for the face (one for each lip, 4 main control and 10 fine control for each eyes, quite a lot...) and in the bone constraint tab, hit the reset distance button for each limit distance constraint (I guess a custom button shortcut to do that would be cool. If I ever do an update or a v2.0, I'll think about it)

  2. I actually planned to make some custom actions to use for speech animation, but I decided not to do it this time, because it would have taken a lot of time and I didn't actually have some recording to make tests (well, sure, I could have used anything, but I use this as an excuse for my laziness).

wow she's spendid !!! tnx very much sharing this

OS PEITOS DELA APARECEM QUANDO VC TIRA A ROPA DELA

KKKKKKKKKK

Hello It seems to be wonderful but do you have the same files for Mac? Thx from France

Hello I'don't know much about mac, but I think you can open this blend file on a mac, as long as you have a working Blender installation for Mac. If not, then I'm sorry but I don't have one =(

Looks amazing! reminds me a bit of the old blender girl.

" Thal'ope "... French humor, I presume... (lol)

she's kinda cross eyed XD but besides that.. it's all perfect! nice one!

this is by far the sexiest model i have seen here, i hope you don't mind but i am going to use her to test my game's fps with her high poly design, great job on the rig it will make it easier for me to use motion capture animation on her, i need a map and character designer for this project. i'll send you a video if you like. mariosison3@gmail.com -thanks.

asi quiero modeņar aguien me enseņa a manejarlo para crear un personaje por fa o me da una pagina para aprender a manejar blender

Hello , awsome work , and i'm planning to make some good animation with your model but my only problem is rendering speed , can you tell me some techniques to speed up rendering ?

better pc is only way Legend, or Renderfarm fi

muy buenos los modelos q nos ofrecen para poder apreder mas, viva BLENDER.. software libre....

soon to be 12000 dwnlds? Dude you are stand Out! That is original as well as very well made. You will be a SupahStah!

How many bones does she have in her rig?

Dude, this model and rig are really pretty awesome I'm an animator and I was going to use it for one of my animations, but I noticed that the facil rigging is very poor, so it will get very hard to get any good animation :S What a shame!!!!!!! I would really love to use it, but I cant with the lack of facial control it has... Anyway, really good job man

Hey, I downloaded your model and watched the video demos on your vimeo channel. Congratulations for the awesome work. Yet, I have a doubt that is bothering me for a long time and I can't find the answer anywhere. How did you make a mirrored mesh be deformed by an armature? (like in her pants). Everywhere it says that the mirror modifier must be applied before rigging. Could you tell me how you did it? Thanks!

wow is cool (sorry no talck in inglish) xD

Downloading to study different character Blending and rigging. Thnx.

Awsome model with interesting topology!

Thank you Tetine for this brilliant Elfe! Great work!
