I recently downloaded Ben Dansie's fantastic "Sintel Lite" model. While great, the model could certainly use several improvements. I made the necessary improvements, but the model was then too "heavy" for my computer to render quickly. And so Sintel Ultralite was born. The model is rigged, textured, and skinned, with less than 400 verts. A baby Scales is included, but he's not rigged. Perhaps you could use these models to re-film Sintel on a machine from 1990; just make sure your ending makes sense. :)

Comments:

Awesome, is like the low-poly ninja woman that was made by a japanese on less than 100 triangles, I prefer that the head is not on the flat side but as part of a corner so it works better when on the side view..

Arg!! Textures not Packet!

Great Job, I loled.

Yeah, I considered that; the head just looked too weird when viewed from the front.

I should probably have mentioned that the textures are in .svg format. They're packed, but you'll need a build with the Vectex texture plugin to use them. I would recommend one of Filiciss's experimental builds from Graphicall.

LOL, great model! Great idea, too bad about the textures, but there will probably be a way to convert them!

Sorry about the textures; I use the vector textures due to their increased flexibility and lack of blurring up close.

My advice is to unpack the textures into a folder, then just convert them into .png with Inkscape.

Thanks so much for your kind comments, everybody. I cannot tell you how much it means to me that the great Ben Dansie called me a "genius." Man! If this shows up on Blendernation, I'll keel over dead from happiness! I'm already halfway there...

I have high render times yet. Just now it is 1 second. I really need a new computer. LOL

Just delete everything but the head.

Hi! I made this with your model.... Hope you like it!

That's great! The feet slip a bit (I don't know how to say it, but it looks a little "off"), but it's great! Now for a fight scene! :)

Hey there! I used your model for some fun : recreating the shaman hut scene using sintel utrlalite : http://oenvoyage.wordpress.com/2011/03/15/sintel-shaman-hut-scene-remade-using-ultralite-model/ hope you like it.

[...] specific model that made me laugh is Sintel Ultralite rig by hjmediastudios. It is a fun version of Ben Dansie’s sintel light. It ‘is even [...]

We already have the shaman scene and my walk cycle... Let's rerender the whole film!

The whole film, nothing. I want that and a sequel. Maybe even a prequel.

Makes the original Sintel look so sad.

I know, right? I feel so guilty right now. Colin Levy must be contemplating suicide right about now.

Fantastic, I just love the dragon! Now - do the same to the script and we have the makings of a great little movie.

The model doesn't seem to be textured when I switch to textured mode. And when I select the mesh and move to edit mode, no UV unwrap appears. Is it supposed to be like that?
