I figured I should post at least ONE model with less than 100,000 polygons... this one has 977.
I'm still new at this low poly stuff, so I apologize for any stupidity in this model. Since I'm not used to thinking in LP terms, I welcome any constructive criticism. Please let me know how I could have saved polys/verts on this model. Thanks!

Great Model !!!

By the way, a more recent blender has been released (2.63) and I suggest that you use it. Great Model with few verts.

You're right... I really should start using the new Blender. It's not even that new anymore. But I don't want to learn the new interface. Any recommendations for 2.49 to 2.5+ tutorials? :)

When I open this with Blender 2.63a on my Mac the chopper is purple, as if the textures haven't been packed, but they have been, and when I unwrap again, I'm left with a nightmare of texturing! Is this just me? If it's not, may you please fix it? Really nice model by the way, fantastic low poly modeling.

Not really sure what the deal is... I just opened up the file and verified that it good. Anyone else have this issue? Also, is anyone smarter than me about what might cause it? Thanks!

Split the window and into the UV/Image editor. Then select the mesh, then hit TAB to go into edit mode. Then select all the verticise by pressing "A". After that, at the bottom of the UV/Editor window, go to "Image", "replace", then select the file wherever you have it on your computer. The name of the image is "FinalApacheTexture.png".

not even 1000 faces, I am in love.

WOOOW!!! This is amazing! Low-Poly models are great!! The texture problem does indeed happen but like GoshFather said you just have to select each object individually, then go to the textures tab, and select "open" and find the texture again. ^^ It works on the author's computer because the textures are exactly where Blender says they are. Obviously the downloader's directory isn't "C:Users/Chris/desktop" etc. Still an amazing model!! Thanks and I will definitely credit you!!! You're awesome! Btw, if you want even lower-poly models, use the "decimate" modifier and set the value to like 0.3 or something. ^^ Too low and you'll have like one face though so be careful. XD!

Yup, much better than mine.

It would be great if the textures were applied to the model

Great prop for military bases.
