Description:

A scale representation of all eight planets plus Pluto and their moon systems.

The axil tilt of the planets, except for Pluto, have been represented(Though they do not rotate).

One Blender Unit = 62,137.1 Miles (100,000 kilometers). All scaling values are for the Radii.

Note that the Planet's orbits themselves are not represented, as they would be far too big for blender to handle.

All planets and most of the moons have textures(Some moons have not been scanned fully by probes,

and simply have a diffuse shader with their average known color), and are set up for Cycles.

You can get really nice renders right away.

All moons with diameters larger than 62.1 Miles are represented, all the spherical ones have actual UV spheres.

The non spherical ones (Below about 310 mi.) have empties.

One Second(24 frames) equals one Earth Day. Play the animation, and watch the moons move. The Animation is infinite, the 10000 frames is just arbitrary.

The sun brightness is not relative to planetary distances or anything. It is just there to illuminate the planets.

Saved under Blender 2.62.

In Blender 2.65 and 2.64, everything renders as purple, rather than with the image textures you have included. Everything seems alright, but it won't render very well so I don't really know.

Hmm...this file is very confusing to me. At first glance Saturn appears to be the center of the solar system. Also the Outliner is in Group mode when you open the file so you can not locate Earth until you change the Outliner to display the Current Scene. Each layer represents a planet with it's associated moons at world origin. If you are expecting the planets arranged like the solar system you will be disappointed. The planets are textured and setup for Cycles render. Remember to extract the external data before render. If you just need a render of an individual planet, this scene can save you a lot of setup time.

Waaooow! Serious, how you can do such a thing? Beats me! :D

reads description Oh wait. It is to big for Blender to handle original scale, but still: Respect! And thanks for sharing with us. Probably one of the most awesome things i have seen here.
