Description:

This file demonstrates the power of Blender, specifically the internal renderer and its procedural textures, with the help of the mesh monkey, Suzanne. :D

Here's the list of scenes:

----Furry Zebra Stripes Suzanne----

This scene demos how to use particle hair for fur as well as using procedural textures to color and control the hair. Vertex groups are also utilized to ensure hair is not grown on the mouth, eyes, or nose.

----Glass Suzanne----

This scene demos transparent shadows and utilizes refraction to create a fairly realistic glass material.

----Glossy Orange Suzanne----

This is a very basic scene, consisting of a Suzanne with a slightly shiny orange-colored material.

----Green Particle Suzanne----

This scene utilizes particles and a halo material to create a faint stylized outline of Suzanne.

----Nuts an' Bolts Suzanne----

A cool scene consisting of a metallic Suzanne with a few stray nuts an' bolts lying around.

Reflective materials used throughout.

----Orange Orange Suzanne----

This scene's Suzanne is truly orange! One ear is sliced off and it looks tasty... This scene is the only one with an image texture (the orange).

----Red (Cracked) Suzanne----

This scene has a cracked red Suzanne. It has a basic material with a procedural Voronoi texture for the cracks.

----Shiny O' Black Suzanne----

A scene of a shiny black Suzanne which uses Mirror reflectivity and a maximum distance for an overall clean look and feel.

----Smokey Volumetric Suzanne----

A scene with a small smoke simulation and volumetric materials. This one's by far the most complex Suzanne, and takes quite a long time to render. Consider switching the lamp data to the No_Soft lamps if your computer is slow or you don't have much time.

----Time Traveling Suzanne Mark I----

This scene's got a Suzanne with animated alpha transparency, a faint glow, and sampled motion blur. The render time is for all the motion samples combined.

That's it!

All scenes use Ambient Occlusion and a bit of compositing.

This is awesome. It renders much faster with a smaller tile size. I used 32x32.
