I made this exosuit for the military vehicle contest. The idea behind this was to wildly build upon the already in existence exoskeleton(s). I hope this is not too sci-fi for the competition :)
The model has a simple IK-rig that covers the most common movements, might require some tweaking to get it perfect, but overall it works fine.
All textures are 100% hand painted.
Unfortunately I had to reduce the texture sizes massively in order to avoid uploading a 400mb file. Be ware of many many small files.
Feel free to use it for whatever you want.
The scene is separated in to the model itself with a background plane on one layer, rig on another and the quick environment on another.
Also this is my first blendswap model! Yay! Would be awesome if someone found a good use for it :) Stay tuned for more blends!
Wow! Congratulations 5 stars!!! I got only 2! Downloading...

Man, this is top notch!
The rig need a lot of work but the design and modeling is great!

Did you texture paint this in Blender or use another program?
Hulis
Thanks for the encouraging comments, appreciated :)
I used photoshop for the texture painting. I've only used blender texture paint to get rid of seams which is something I'm planning on doing for this one as well when I find the time.

very nice, thanks for shared :]

Wow! beautiful work, however it rendering time is longer then it ,expected I will study it and do some reverse engineering.
Well done! how did you create the armor plating? making simple flat pieces and using the solidify modifier?
Hulis
Sorry for the late reply, been busy :)
@Blaine Heiser: I did the armor plating by simply doing the flat pieces and then extruding along the normals and after that I did some re-arranging to get the shape I wanted. I haven't really used the solidify modifier since for example in this case I find it much faster to just extrude than go through the menus and add & apply the modifier.
@RNS, I can't say much about the render times. It is rather long yes, so if you find something I've missed please let me know :)
what kind of renderer you using?

Here's a promo animation I've just put together with this model. Hope you don't mind the subtle changes I made to the textures and model :)
