This blend is based on the Shipyard 06 file by Greyoxide, which you can also find here.

The only difference is that I added some object and vertex groups. With these groups the file can be used with my "shipwright" script, which is based on the entoforms project's scripts.

You can get the script at: http://code.google.com/p/entoforms/ You need shipwright.py and the 'macouno' modules

Dolf, that is sweet as hell dude, great stuff. Thanks for sharing

Thanks Matthew!

Btw... there's a nice video experiment here! on youtube

This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen, and one really useful for me. A fleet of these things will show up in my next movie...

Wait a minute... I've downloaded the "macouno" scripts, placed them in a folder called "macouno" in the modules directory of scripts.... I've installed the "Shipwright" addon... and I select an object and hit "Shipwright." Bingo! Error message. What am I doing wrong?

Hjmediastudios: What's the error? Remember this is highly experimental stuff... so I'm not surprised if it doesn't work out of the box. (BTW... I'm developing in 2.57 still so I wouldn't be surprised if there's errors in 2.58)

Yeah, it was an API thing. I just switched to a 2.57 build and it worked great. Unfortunately, the ship produced by using my name was pathetic...

Cool.... and yeah well... it's easy enough to hack the script to work slightly different hehe... Please do share your results if you get something cool!

I've just been experimenting with this script. Eventually, I got it to work with a customized Ldraw-based part library. The end result? Lego Entomorphs. I'm currently implementing an evolutionary system for them, and I've been able to get them rigged with a mod to an existing script. I plan to order some actual Legtomorphs off Lego DesignByMe soon...

Man, this is totally amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this! :D

this could have been a 100 usd plug-in to Maya etc. Thank you sooo much for your ethic. G'bless and g'day

Good job on the script, I'm sure I'll find it very useful. However, there is a bug that duplicates the same part of the ship over and over in practically the same location. I think that the hull of the ship is the most affected by this, but I'm not sure.

I'm not finding Shipwright or Shipyard here. I get a d/l link with this /# at the end. What gives? Any other links available to d/l?

Forget My previous post. I was using Internet Explorer rather than the snoop-ware Firefox and Chrome.

Why is this not working for me...(awesome work by the way :) )

I am new to Blender and I would like to have a step, by step install instructions for the scripts including how to run this BLEND file. Thanks
