This version of Cartoon Guy is for 2.56

Comments:

Thank you sooooooo much Michael..... This version works perfect on 2.56.

Michael, I have been testing Cartoon Guy on 2.57 works wonderful. Where can I get a DVD to learn the rigging and such. I am new to this stuff and need to learn how to animate my own models. Thanks Joe.

The rigging is great, but I encountered a problem when trying to render it in 2.57b which was the eyes would revert to their original pose. No idea why.

Vinimay, good to hear.

Jofes, the blender addon rigify did most of the work for me. There's a lot of tutorials on blendercookie, youtube and vimeo I've learned from. The blenderartists forum and models from this site helped me a lot also.

Jam, I think what might be happening is if your trying to pose him differently, the program is reverting to the pose thats keyed in that action. Try deleting the action or turning on auto-keyframing. If you tried this already and it didn't work let me know.

I am very new to blender, basically trying to make a free learning game for mobile. Saw your wonderful character and since you are kind enough to make it free so I am going to use it.

Basically want to create walking images for the cartoon guy and use it in my game. Will keep you posted and follow you on twitter. I hope you will give me some pointers how to use it as I am very new to 3d modeling and animations. Right now I am a one man show and have some programming experience.

Very cool! I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. Can't wait to see the final product.

michael your job is perfect! congratulations for your talent! working with a team of friends in a web project for free nonprofit and if your authorize us to use our creation with some changes ... i'd appreciate it a lot! waiting your answer to advance the project. of course you have any concerns about the use that will give your character are your willingness. thanks again from ya! greetings!

sorry if misspelled something or not understood. Argentina and we do not handle very well the English to say =) forgive us

Adokin, yeah sure, no problem. What is the project?

is the adventure of a specialist in phobias serving fictional character in the popular culture ... movies, television, cartoon, comic, games, etc. it's called "fabio: the fobiologo" and has no language dialogues in particular to make it more accessible to all languages and regions of the world the same. =) we work on it using your character in a demo you can see in www.facebook.com / hope you see viarideas and give us your opinion! thank you for your generosity! we hope the changes we made in your original design ones you like. were several people needed to recreate your model based on as a starting point. truly grateful ...

I really like this character. very low poly, but good enough for subdivision :)

Very impressive character. Loving' the low poly count.

Like it, like it, like it, LIKE IT !!!!! Thank you so much !!!!

I would love to learn how you rigged him... =)

Thank you for this! The rigging and model both look perfect!

Thanks for this. For whatever reason the shape keys weren't working right with the v. 1.2 in blender 2.63.

thanks for this character, it looks great but... I think it has an error to turn FK to IK, could it be?. I'm using it under 2.65

thanks!!

Michael, just thanks and I show you a short test animation with your cool character. http://thevode.com/motion/blender-character-animation-karate-soccer/
