Just an advice: the rig should be on top of the subsurf, this way animation is faster if you want the subsurfed look while you're animating (normally nobody want's to animate a subsurfed model because it adds too much vertices not needed until rendering but if your computer can handle it it's better to put the subsuf after the armature modifier).

@Blendermanster998 - Are you using blender 2.57? you may need to re-download the file @SavageCode - yeah my bad. I have a 20Ghz laptop so often forget. I may re-upload the file later haha :D

20Ghz? Are sure sure you don't mean 2.0Ghz? As far as I know, there's nothing out there that approaches that speed. Are you from the future? :)

@Hjmediastudios - yes, it's a 2.8Ghz quad core overclocked to 5 Ghz, hence 20Ghz total. core temp runs at over 70 degrees Celsius so I downclock it when I'm out. this isn't the most powerful laptop, some are up to 30 with the new hexacores and octocores.

hi if this is a stupid question im sorry, i've downloaded the dog and hydrant rig, and think they are both brilliant. the only problem is i cant seem to get the shape keys to work correctly. once i try move the sliders the number on it increases but as soon as i try set it at a different value it goes straight back to its original position (usually 0.00). i've compared it with other rigs i've used shape keys on and only difference i'm noticing is the sliders are coloured purple on yours, which probanly means nothing at all but im mentioning it in case it's relevant. i'm fairly new to blender so please forgive if its a silly question, im hoping its just a case of something im overlooking. thanks for your help in advance.

@blender noob pd, Hi If you go to help up in the top window, Click F-curve Driver version fix, this can fix it sometimes. Also make sure you put the subsurf after the armature in the modifiers panel. (I can't update it until I get more models online) Hope this helps :D

Your welcome, That's good to here, feel free to request any tutorials you like! :D

What version of blender are you using? I made it in blender 2.57, it may not work in 2.49 and it works in 2.58 Perhaps reinstall blender?
