Blendswap.com

I know you guys have wanted it for a while, and it took forever, but Blendswap now has licensing. For more info on what licenses we will be using on the site check them out here: http://www.blendswap.com/licenses/.

So what about all the models already uploaded to Blendswap, well that’s where it gets a little tricky. Everything uploaded to Blendswap so far has been defaulted to CC0 except for the Durian category which is set to CC-BY. Now what if you don’t want your model to be CC0, well this is what you will need to do. Email me with a link to the model pages you want changed along with the what you want the new license to be. Going forward with submitting models you just need to choose your license from the dropdown box on the submit a blend form.

I hope everyone enjoys having the new licensing I know there will be people that wanted this type of license or that type, but I made my decision on what I thought would be best for the site, and also from what it sounded like the majority of users wanted for licensing. I do want to state however that I would love everyone to consider using CC0, I started this site with the intention of every model being free to use for anything and I would really like to keep it as close to that as possible, but I also understand wanting credit for the hard work you’ve done. Anyways, whatever license you choose I hope you like the new addition to Blendswap, I hope it will drive more artist to the site to upload their models. Keep on blending.
